George is looking seasonably moody over his wine glass. Friulano is a great winter white wine. It is full-bodied but with a snow-like freshness. Just like a heavy snowfall: dry, bright, crisp, cool.
The other reason why Friulano is suited for Last Xmas type weather is it comes from the North-East of Italy. It is no coincidence this wine comes from region surrounded by snow-covered mountains.

Xmas shopping! 2010 Chablis is BRILLIANT. A row of party lights on a dark December night. Rock against rock, sparks of vibrant fruit, but it is all about the ROCK. Saw Pascal Bouchard 2010 Chablis reduced at Waitrose tonight from £15 to £9.99. Persuaded. Bright stone acidity, it is almost a shame to drink it now. Not yet drinking. Hide a few bottles for NEXT Christmas. Listening to Rihanna and Calvin Harris, We found Love - Gather diamonds in the light…. What it takes to come alive… Lovely brisk winter night in London. Starry-eyed.
Intense sangiovese with rich spicy plum, cherry and heady cedar. Tastes like a ripasso. From Emilia-Romagna more known for Lambrusco. A few seconds after this, I spilled it on floor and now the room smells like a warm cherry pie factory. Certainly not Anti-Flavour Elite.
